| This is our son Austin,
he is 21 years of age.
He is autistic. We are trying to help people become more aware of Autism. First it is not contagious. Each person that’s afflicted with autism is different but yet have similarities as in being anti-social, withdrawn and not wanting to make eye contact. You would think Austin does not hear or doesn’t understand you because he’s non-Verbal. That’s not the case, he does both. Austin can hear and also understand you, he has a problem in communicating back to us the way we communicate. Autism is a puzzle that’s why the ribbon has puzzle pieces on it. |

The puzzle on the ribbon reflects the mystery
and complexity of autism. The different colors and shapes represent the
diversity of people and families living with this disorder.
The brightness of the ribbon signals hope- hope through research and in the increasing awareness of people like you. |
